This summer, my children and I traveled to the Bahamas for my niece’s wedding. I had forgotten to empty my water bottle and as I approached TSA, I was told I had to discard it. Instead of simply emptying its contents, I threw the entire thing out. (Yea…I know.)
For months, I have been looking for its replacement to no avail… until the other day. I happened to notice my son’s water bottle and voila! It was exactly what I’d been looking for. Simple, sleek, not too big, locking mechanism, and handle. All of the features of its predecessor, and more.
I jokingly asked my son to get one for me and as you can see from the picture, I am now the proud owner of a new water bottle! It’s the best gift! What qualifies it to be ranked the best?
Because it was the gift that was needed most at the time.
Like you, I’ve received many gifts over my lifetime. Yet those that stand out are the ones that were most needed.
- A mani/pedi gift certificate when I was in need of some self-care.
- A container of soup when I was under the weather.
- A bouquet of flowers when my life was a hot mess.
- A heartfelt text when I was having a tough day.
More than 2,000 years ago, the world was in need of a Savior and we received the best gift. The birth of Jesus opened the door for everyone to have direct access to God the Father, to have a personal relationship with Him, and to one day, enjoy eternity with Him in heaven.
Just what we needed.
Additionally, our faith in Jesus gives us access to the Holy Spirit, Who enables us to live in peace, and with power and purpose. He is our Comforter, our Helper, and our Teacher. He helps us to use the gifts that we have to make a positive impact on the world.
“For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11 NKJV)
Throughout the holiday season, you may receive a variety of gifts. Let’s be sure to focus on and be thankful for the best gift, the real reason for this season: Jesus.
I want to wish you and your loved ones a joyous Christmas and all God’s best in the New Year. This will be my final blog post for the year. Thank you for being a loyal follower of Elevate The Day.
See you in 2025!
