It seems like it was not that long ago that things like email and social media platforms were brand new. We all enjoyed the convenience and fun of connecting with people. For a time, our lives were enriched by the efficiency and ease of the internet.
Until they weren’t.
I don’t know about you, but instead of making our lives easier, sometimes technology makes it more challenging. Critical emails land in spam folders. Social media accounts get hacked. Internet servers go down. Entire systems get hacked.
Where’s the fun in that?
Perhaps like me, you’ve had to take certain precautions to prevent these things from happening. You’ve had to change passwords or implement 2-factor authentication. For more serious intrusions, you may have had to employ the use of identity theft protection.
I’ve recently been hit with an influx of spam emails. Since I have three email accounts, you can imagine how much time I spend sifting through them to determine what are legit communications.
I miss the good ol’ days and my simple AOL email!
Perhaps this is why I love reading and studying the Bible so much. I never have to worry about scams or lies. I never have to sift through the content to determine if it’s true. Every page, every sentence, every word is 100% truth. Done and done.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV)
We can take comfort in this, yes? We never have to doubt what the Bible says. It’s God’s Word and since God is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19), we can count on His Word being rock solid truth. So…
- If God says you are blessed. You are.
- If God says you will prosper. You will.
- If God says you are healed. You are.
- If God says you have a purpose. You do.
I could go on and on. There are hundreds, if not thousands of promises in the Bible and every single one of them is meant for His children. No scams.
Instead of sifting through spam messages, how about picking up God’s Word this week and reading about His great love for you (John 3:16), His protection of you (Psalm 91), and His provision for you (Philippians 4:19), and His home in heaven for all those who believe (John 14:2).
That my friend is the best news you’ll get today!
