Jen’s Gem: Jesus is more than a champion!

One of my favorite movies is “Eat Pray Love.” I saw this movie when it came out within days of being unexpectedly laid off from my job. With no prospects in sight, I decided the best thing to do was to escape reality in a dark movie theater.

There was one line in the movie that sticks with me to this day. In the last leg of Liz Gilbert’s journey, she meets Mr. Perfect and he makes a bold statement to her:

“You don’t need a man, Liz. You need a champion.”

When I heard this, I concurred! Jennifer, you need a champion! Little did I know that my “champion” would be a man who walked the earth some 2000 plus years ago.

The thing is – Jesus is more than a champion. He’s our Savior! Today we celebrate His resurrection where all of the promises of God come to be for anyone who chooses to believe in this unprecedented event that literally split history in two: BC and AD.

On this amazing day of transformation, I pray that you will experience the love of God in a new way through His Son. If you’re looking for a champion, no need to look any further.

“For here is the way God loved the world—he gave his only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it!  (John 3:16-17 TPT)
